Councillors and mayors can rejoin the LGPS from 11 May

From Monday 11 May, eligible councillors and mayors will be able to join or rejoin the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).

This change follows updated Regulations that once again allow elected members to participate in the Scheme. If you are eligible and wish to join, it’s important to understand how to opt in and when contributions will begin.
