New to GMPF

If you have recently joined Greater Manchester Pension Fund (GMPF) the information in this section will help you understand the Scheme and your role as an employer.

GMPF is one of many local authority pension funds, which follow the rules of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). We are the largest in the country and membership is enjoyed by people who work for the local authorities in Greater Manchester, as well as other employers. A wide range of employers participate in the Scheme such as academies, further and higher education corporations, and companies who provide specified services for the Ministry of Justice. In some cases, membership also extends to private contractors carrying out local authority functions.
