Most members can take their pension from age 55 (rising to 57 in April 2028), although your normal retirement age is linked to your State Pension Age. You can request a personalised retirement quote through your My Pension account.
Your benefits are built up under the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). For service from April 2014 onwards each year of membership earns you 1/49th of your pensionable pay, revalued each April in line with the cost of living. Pre-2014 service is calculated separately on your final salary.
