To undertake its responsibilities, the Board must determine the areas it wishes to consider. This may include, but is not restricted to, the following:

• Reviewing compliance monitoring reports, including reports to and decisions made under the Regulations by the Pension Fund Management Panel.
• Reviewing management, administrative and governance processes and procedures, to ensure they remain compliant with the Regulations, relevant legislation and in particular the Pension Regulator’s codes of practice.
• Reviewing the compliance of scheme employers with their duties under the Regulations and relevant legislation.
• Assisting with the development and review of all documentation required by the Regulations, including the Governance Policy and Compliance Statement, Funding Strategy Statement and Statement of Investment Principles.
• Assisting with the development and review of scheme member and employer communications as required by the Regulations and relevant legislation.
• Monitoring complaints and reviewing administration and governance performance.
• Overseeing the application of the Internal Dispute Resolution Process and reviewing the outcome of Pensions Ombudsman cases.
• Reviewing the implementation of revised policies and procedures following changes to the Scheme.
• Reviewing the arrangements for the training of Board members and those elected members and officers with delegated responsibilities for the management and administration of the Scheme.
• Reviewing the complete and proper exercise of employer and administering authority discretions.
• Reviewing the outcome of internal and external audit reports and monitoring any actions undertaken as a result.
• Reviewing draft accounts and the Fund’s annual report.
• Reviewing the compliance of specific cases, projects, or processes on request of the Pension Fund Management Panel.
• Reviewing the whole fund risk register and other risk registers and risk logs as appropriate
• Any other area within the statement of purpose to assist the Administering Authority as the Board deems appropriate.
