APLAdditional paternity leave (paid or unpaid)Begins after ordinary paternity leave
APPAssumed pensionable payThis is an assumed amount of pay where the employee is on reduced or no pay
AVCAdditional voluntary contributionsThe contributions are paid to the Prudential. They also include death in service contributions
CACCumulative additional employee's contributionsThese can be additional pension contributions or additional voluntary contributions for end of year data
CARCCumulative additional employer's contributionsThe total additional employer contributions for the scheme year (1 April – 31 March) for year end
CARECareer average revalued earningsDefined benefits are based on career average pay instead of final salary pay

CRACritical retirement ageThe age when benefits are payable under the 2008 Scheme (protection of the 85 year rule)
